PARTNERSHIP PROGRESS

March 2005 – Dr. Penny Poplin-Gosetti (The University of Toledo) and Dr. Ron Opp (The University of Toledo) visit the UK to meet with the Vice Chancellor, Technology Cluster leaders, and deans.
 

October 14, 2004- Dr. Neil Duncan (Senior Lecturer in Education, The University of Wolverhampton) presents a public lecture at The University of Toledo entitled “Sexualized Aggression in Schools.”
 

August 16-19, 2004- Dr. Mike Carroll (Bowling Green State University) and Dr. Neil Reid (The University of Toledo) visited the UK to learn about cluster initiations in order to apply the approaches to NW Ohio economic development.
 

Summer 2004- Dr. Thomas Switzer (The University of Toledo, Dean of College of Education) visited the the University of Wolverhampton to meet with the College of Education administration.
 

May 2004- United Kingdom delegates, Jean Gilkison (University of Wolverhampton) and Steve Doherty (Black County Investment) visited Northwest Ohio to explore partnerships.
 

October 2003- Frank Calzonetti (The University of Toledo) visited with representatives of universities and businesses in the UK and Ireland to develop contacts for future collaboration and to learn ways in which European universities are working with their communities in technology-based development.  The University of Wolverhampton area was selected because the institution and its region share many similarities with The University of Toledo and Northwest Ohio.
