Dr. Frank D. Bean
"New Frontiers: Shrinking Populations and Immigration Policy"

Frank D. Bean is professor of sociology at the University of California at Irvine.  He is one the nation's leading immigration scholars (particularly concerning Mexican migration).  His recent book with Gillian Stevens, America's Newcomers and the Dynamics of Diversity, won the American Sociological Association's 2003 Otis Dudley Duncan book award. 

This talk will discuss the broader social and demographic trends occurring in the world today and will link these changes to possible changes in immigration policy.
